A little about ourselves

The Bat Yam community was established out of a need to tend to the numerous Olim living in the city. Its primary location is in the Habonim community center. The community’s coordinator works to provide assistance to Olim living in other areas of the city as well.

Apart from ongoing activities, the community runs unique projects such as the Mothers Against Drugs support group, an army preparation project for parents and youth, and more. All projects are run by volunteers from the community and are conducted mainly in Russian.

Every month we go on trips that provide interest and information about our Israeli heritage and history. We also celebrate all holidays together in joyful events that bring people closer.

We hold weekly study groups and classes such as Hebrew, Shabbat ceremony and more.

Each Tuesday, 6 volunteers from the community distribute meals to 180-200 Holocaust survivors and disadvantaged families (funded by the Living with Dignity association).

As of April 2022, we took it upon ourselves to support about 20 families of Olim and refugees from Ukraine and help them with their integration in Israel.
